New England Patriots
running back Rex Burkhead carried the ball eight times for 44 yards
in the team's 33-3 blowout win over the Steelers in Week 1. Burkhead also added
five catches for 41 yards in a highly active performance.
Plenty of buzz out of training camp led fantasy owners to believe that
teammate Sony Michel would be the lead back to start the regular
season but Burkhead proved
to be the most effective. The veteran ran hard and kept the Steelers
Defense off balance. Michel is the most talented back in the
Patriots backfield but, for Week 1, Burkhead found the most success. Burkhead
touched the ball 10 times, a slightly high number moving forward from a fantasy
perspective.
