LINCOLN, Nebraska — Nebraska football player Rex Burkhead and gymnast Emily Wong are among 24 Big Ten Outstanding Sportsmanship Award winners.
The conference on Thursday announced that Burkhead and Wong were chosen from a group of more than 300 athletes who have displayed positive sportsmanship.
Burkhead finished his career as one the top five all-time rushers at Nebraska with 3,329 yards and 30 touchdowns. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals.
Wong finished third at the 2013 NCAA championships in both the all-around and on floor exercise.
