Rookie defensive tackle Karl Klug not only got the sack – he actually had two on the night – but he also recorded the first safety of his life in Thursday’s preseason win over the Saints.

Klug tackled Saints quarterback Sean Canfield in the end zone to give the Titans a 2-0 lead in the first quarter. So did he think about breaking out a safety dance?

“No way,” Klug said with a smile. “I am not much of a dancer. You wouldn’t want to see me dance. But it was pretty cool to get the safety. That was the first of my career, even in high school.”

Klug has had plenty to celebrate this preseason. The fifth-round pick from Iowa exceeded everyone’s expectations. He led the Titans with two sacks in the four preseason games.

“I had no idea what to expect coming in, I was going to come in here and work my butt off, that was my plan,” Klug said. “Obviously there’s a lot of stuff I need to work on. But I feel I got a little better in the preseason.”
